airbag light/help with error code
My airbag light on the dash came on.
dog was sitting in passenger seat, heated seat was on (keep her warm). Hoping it was just a fluke - like maybe she was just in-between the seat weight limit (25lb spaniel). I reset it and it came back error I am getting: Ignition circuit ZK0 / Airbag Driver Stage 1 resistance too large error sporadic (error attached on following post) Anyone know what to look for? Thanks, Happy Thanksgiving!

I had the same code on my X Ignition circuit ZK0 / Airbag Driver Stage 1. I replaced the SRS module under the console with a module with the same numbers. Reset the SRS code and the light went away and never came back. I sent out my old module to a place that can rebuild modules. Never put the old module back in since it a pain in the ass to replace. You can look on eBay to see if someone is selling a SRS module with the same number or you can just send your module in to have it repaired.

THANK YOU!
I found the following information while I was "up all night". I think I will get down to the control unit and first try unplug/plug in everything as long as I have to get to it to read the numbers. I am taking it that you did not have to code the control unit to the car, I read stuff about the airbag control module has to be coded to the VIN #? Airbag Ignition Circuit - Drivers Side - Defective This fault is often stored during repair of other components (removal of steering wheel or instrument cluster). Disconnect connector from generator module. Check wires from control unit pin 10 to contact ring pin 1 and pin 11 to contact ring pin 2 for continuity. Measure resistance of squib (detonator) at generator module (1.8 - 5.6 ohms). Replace if out of range. Check steering-wheel contact ring. Connect generator module and measure resistance at control-unit plug between pin 10 and pin 11 (1.8 - 5.6 ohms). Replace steering-wheel contact ring. If the fault code recurs, replace control unit.

I think when they mention Driver stage 1 they are talking about something else, they are not talking about the driver side of the car.
If you buy a SRS module with similar numbers, you don't need to have the module coded to your DME, at least I didn't have to do it.

THANK YOU.
But since they list "driver side stage 1" and then "passenger side stage 1" it must then mean something on the left OR as in your case the control unit is failing to read something on the drivers side? I am thinking (mostly a guess) that drivers side would mean the airbag in the steering wheel and passenger on the dash and that Stage 1 or 2 means the amount of the impact and how big they deploy. I have read that we have a "two" stage system as to not cause harm on a smaller impact. I am in no way disputing or any less grateful for you sharing your experience and solution. I looked quickly on Ebay and if around $50 on a used control unit solves my problem I will be very happy. To confuse me further after the second reset of the airbag light it did not return today......personally would prefer something failing than unresolved "why's"?....

Most likely it one of the connector. I would just get a can of electrical cleaner and some di-electric grease and clean all the connectors. There are also airbag curtains around the door and windshield pillar.
