Dont buy the hangers yet as you may not need them!I have fitted the 4.6 and the 4.8 exhaust on other X5s and they are perfect with the stock hangers! |

Since you have the 4.4 exhaust you can later have welded on the 4.6 tips with no problem!its been done here as well! I fitted a 4.8 exhaust on my 3.0D which is more complex but on the petrol variants although the pipe diametre is beefier on the more powerful models,I believe the pipe connections are interchangeable, which is why the mod on the article below was possible. Note:You DONT need to remove the rear bumper to install your new exhaust!Just loosen disengage the bumper in the middle bottom to assist you in removing the rear hangers. http://www.xoutpost.com/showthread.php?t=9413 |

Here you can see a 4.4 exhaust with 4.6/4.8 tips adapted. The welding is quite bad as the back of the tips should have been closed to prevent exhaust gases from escaping to rear of the car(although the seller states that the tips were done professionally!!!!)
