How's your erection? (Hood wise)

Inquiring about what is be standard pop up height for these hoods.
After the release handle is pulled, how high does your hood pop up?
I have to manually pull my hood up to expose the release handle.
Not sure if that's what is correct.

My hood supports have great power and support the bonnet well

Let me clarify.
After you release the inside hood handle, the hood unlocks and
pops up a bit. On mine, I need to further raise the hood to have the
(In grille) handle pop outward.
I think it's supposed to pop up and expose the release catch handle.

Sounds like you're missing a spring. When you pop the hood, it should raise by itself and spit the release lever out through the slots on the left side of the grille.

I think the object of your desire is Item 14.

Nope, not missing any springs.
Checked today, both bayonets have the springs.

Same as you, I need to lift the hood a bit to pop the handle outward.
The hood struts have good erection (once the hood is up, it stays up), they don't need any Viagra for now.

Mine used to be like that. And it was because the whole hook-thingy assembly needed to be greased.
When you looked at it, there was grease all around the moving parts. But on closer inspection, it was bone dry on all contact surfaces.

I took off the assembly and cleaned it with brake cleaner. Sanded the inside of the hook nice and smooth again and covered everything in grease.
My hood has popped up with a vengeance ever since.

I'm going to have to do this! My hood takes two tries to get it open. First pull lever, then walk to front and pull up on hood, then pull lever again, now the hood raises up enough to release...

Thanks!

This. My hood struts are also new. And I do the same with my hood.
