4.8is trade in. $?

Hey guys, it's time to upgrade because our family is growing and it's already getting old driving like a grandma with my chest close to the steering wheel.

I still enjoy this car and would like to keep it but there's no way around it.

We found a really nice 7 seater...2012 Audi Q7 s line 3.0 supercharged in the area and we're thinking about trading in our x5 . At 130k miles, with 2 owners and full service records from 0 miles, what should I realistically expect from dealers to pay for my car? I guess they don't care about slotted brake discs and the Dynavin N6, but at least a rough estimate?

I'm trying to be realistic and not expect too much. I found KBB to be pretty inaccurate on trade ins with the previous cars I had...dealers either surprised me with good offers or I walked out thinking they're crazy.

Some actually ask how much you want for it. So I wanna be prepared.

Thanks for your help!

You will be better off selling it. You trading in your use car for another use car so most dealers will give you squat for your trade in.

I agree with upallnight.

As far as the Q7 goes, please please really look into it. A close friend of mine has a 2013 and I absolutely hate it. It is just a let down on quality and drives like a minivan. She hates it too and wants to get back into a X5. You may like it, just be sure it's what you really want when you're getting rid of something as nice as your X5.

Same for the Q7. I drove a 2013 and it felt like a jeep grand cherokee, utterly awful. BMW makes a 7 seater X5.

OK you're much better off selling it on your own. Use the website below to help you value it. Retail is listed as well. Also check Cars.com they have a private party to private party value which seems pretty accurate. Also check CarGurus.com. Lots of listings for comparison.

Trade-in Values

The NADA and black book pricing is the most accurate in my opinion. I have really looked at pricing carefully on these 4.8is vehicles for the last three months. Right now I think is a bad time to sell the prices plummeted the last couple months. 10 days ago I paid $9216 with 120 K in excellent condition. Sure the suspension as a bug in it but I don't even mind spending three or $4000 on it because the rest of it is nearly perfect with brand-new tires etc.

My point is the spring is a much better time to do it. You will be shocked how little you get right now. The guy that traded it in the place I bought it from which was a luxury used dealership got $8500 for it. I know that because one of my friends actually was found to be working there unbeknownst to me and he told me that later.

Check those sources for pricing that we are very much in use by the dealer especially black book.

Go look at a QX 56 four or five years old they are great albeit not splashy vehicles. And very reasoable. Reliable and great for families. We have one actually a QX 80 which we paid too much for her but I like the 56. Had to appease the wife but the older one is a much better value. They look pretty good too. A little frumpy but has some pizzaz and are kinda fun.

You'll have to find somebody who really appreciates what you have but you get so many extras on it you just need to find the right private buyer. I think you will if you're patient.

I thought about putting it up for sale...well since I already have a premier membership, I might as well post it up here for sale first lol.

As for the q7, its the loaded one with air suspension and a bunch of other goodies.will def test drive it to death; dont get me wrong I like my car, but space is an issue.

Our relatives have both. The newer x5 and the q7. Never asked to test drive any of them but they're both happy with them. The x5 3rd row seat is a joke. That's why I didn't even consider it.

2nd on our list is the GL550. The wife likes german cars as well, not seeing any Japanese in our family in the near future, although everyone knows they're supposedly more reliable .

Had a 2007 GL550 excellent MB but not as big as a QX56 not even close. Barely larger than the X5. Japanese can be great for cost containment and they are pretty high quality if you get the high end lines. Lexus SUVs great but smallish as well and pricey.

Just don't trade that X5 in unless they give you more than they ever will! Lol

I liked the fit and finish of the Gl much more than the Q7.

How much do you want for the x5
