Ugh, that's comforting. For rental trailers, I zip tie mine on with the massive zip ties, so I can easily remove and put on if needed. For the trailer I'm building, I'll look to make a more permanent method of attaching it

have you looked into just putting a BC in the X5? The wireless and the P2 are the same thing, I went with the P3 as I pull multiple different trailers and there are presets you can select. Its not that difficult to install a permanent BC, Mine is in the center console so you cant even see it.
