Dings and Scratches

Okay, going on my 3rd year with my 2001 X5 and I have more then enough dings and marks all over the X then I can stomach. Am I alone? Who else dares to post images of the most displeasing parts of your X5.

I am thinking about getting the bumpers redone, I would like to do it through insurance if the cost will total over my $500 deductable. Otherwise can some of these marks on the body be removed. Including the scratches on the black part of the mirror assembly whihc was caused by that BMW snow ice remover and the wife trying to be helpful when I was at work on a snow day

How would you justify filing a claim under your insurance? That's just a lot of wear and tear. A good body/paint shop should be able to fix all of that, where are you located?

Whoa! Our X5 looks exactly like that: Same color, Sport, same wheels, front bar. Cool . I don't think I've actually posted pics of ours before .

I am in the NYC area. The insurance claim idea was really for the bull bar and front bumper. I already asked an adjuster and he said the total for the repair would be around $600 for a brand new bumber w/bar and install.

I would like all these problems fixed at some point, maybe spring time. Anyone here who knows someone in Staten Island or close to it let me know. Do you think the scratchs on the black of the mirror can be buffed out?

cool, thats what I was hoping for

I also want to add that I just used some meguires no swirl wax on the black spot of the mirror and it removed most of the scratches.
