2004 4.8is Front Bumper Fit-Up Question???

Hello. I recently removed the front bumper for the first time since owning the car and found a couple of problems.

One, the plastic clips that attach to the bottom of the fenders are broken. They obviously need replaced. My big concern is the top corners of the bumper. They seem to have a slit in the fender and a "bump" on the bumper that are supposed to push together. I don't see how the bumper meets the fender on the top and is supposed to held in. See the pictures below for an idea. I don't mean where the bumpers is sticking out to the side of the car. I know those plastic holders need replaced. I don't understand how the clip is supposed to go into the slit closest to the headlight.

+1 for number 4. Had the same issue where the original ones broke due to age after removing the bumper once.

Yes those are broken on both sides. Once replaced will this hold the small clip at the top of the bumper in the fender as well?

Correct. Those prices bolt to the fender. Bumper clips into this. This thing essentially sucks the bumper up to the fender via the clips.

Nice! Thanks for the info it just doesn't seem like it would pull in the top but I guess them being broken it's kinda hard to tell!!

Well happy to report back that the mounts mentioned totally fixed the front bumper misalignment.

My imola needs it desperately as well... even worse than the OP's.

Thanks OP for posting this as I will be removing the bumper sometime this spring. I'll be sure and have those 2 parts on hand for when they most likely brake.

No problem. As soon as this was done I had an igniter go out on the drivers side and it was not as easy to remove this time haha. Guess that's a good problem, means it's working right??? Haha.
