Hello,

How do you change the minimum valve lift with INPA? Also can anyone propose any INPA software, what would work with Win10? Currently most of the functions do not work for me!

Bringing this thread back to life, first couple pages seemed like a really good info but sort of got derailed and now mixed thoughts on doing this?

Is changing the the valve lift the solution or no?

I have not been able to eliminate the issue with adjusting the lift. Might be slightly better with tradeoffs, but not eliminated. It's getting cold up here again, so it'll be an issue soon.

Rather than changing the values back to spec I suggest finding the reason there are not as they should be. Since the engine design determined the proper values it is not logical to adjust them to out of spec if that is your goal.

I played around with this setting on my 05 4.8is to try and see it if has any impact on a diesel like noise that I am getting at low rpms. After adjusting it and driving it for a few days I got a CEL and when going up a pretty steep hill and giving it gas it put the truck in engine fail safe mode. Still trying to figure out the source of the diesel like noise, my Indy told me after putting a stethoscope on it, it almost sounds like its coming from the intake manifold. I am not convinced yet. But the downside to the valve lift at .8mm was the CEL and engine fail safe mode. So back to .3mm it goes.

Recoding of the sound?

How old are the chain tensioners? It's not as bad as the m 62 but n 62 also needs periodic tensioner replacement. I've seen where the chain cut through the timing chain cover like a chain saw through a tree.

I've been surprised how much the injectors can sound like valve follower tap etc. N 52 horrible for this issue.

If you have "lifter" slap it should clear up after 30 minutes drive at ≥ 2500 rpm.
