Repaired
Well, since no one replied to this thread I'll update it for those that need this repair. Turns out you do need to remove the manifold to replace the pipe.
Parts needed: manifold gaskets heater return pipe with O ring Optional parts: throttle body gasket new valley pan cover with integrated gasket(or re use and make your own gasket) pipe that goes from the valley pan to the water pump 1 dis connect battery 2 remove the air intake parts 3 unplug, label and move all wiring in the way 4 remove positive battery cable attached to the fire wall 5 remove the cabin air filter and covers 6 remove the lower cabin air filter housing 6 bolts(this will allow a lot of access to the manifold and wiring. 7 dis connect the fuel line from the fuel rail 8 remove the throttle body and then the manifold(should just pull up and be able to squeeze it through the wiring without removing the connection to the alternator) 9 drain the coolant 10 remove 1 bolt holding the pipe and release the quick connect fitting to remove the pipe. At this point I decided to change the valley pan cover and pipe. Remove all the bolts, siphon or vacuum out all the coolant and inspect the coolant transfer pipe to see if you have the leaking gasket problem. I didn't. Clean off the old gasket residue and install in reverse order. 11 Install everything in reverse order with new manifold gaskets and refill the coolant. Fire it up and check for leaks. Good luck |
