Upgrading front lights, plug in and play?

Hi guys, we are going to upgrade the front lights on the x5 to bring it more upto date and not sure I like the idea of opening up the original front light unit and playing around with wires (I read the how to's)

I have seen a few after market upgrades of full units so I'm hoping I can buy one that just plugs in and works.

The wife's x5 is black and we have seen these ones

BMW X5 E53 98-03 BLACK PROJECTOR LED ANGEL EYE HALO RING HEADLIGHTS RHD | eBay

But it say Not for original hid xeron lighting, how would I know if mine are? They just look standard but our x5 has nearly every extra.

Her x5 has auto levelling lights is this something that may need adjusting, it's say the motor needs to be transferred, is this a easy diyer? Any guides?

her x5 is a 2001

Anyone got any pics of the swap over units?

Thanks Jon

Check out these threads - a number of us have done it, I'm in the process now, initially had bad luck, but quickly sorted out if you're handy.

Hi Jon,
If yours has xenon headlights, then you cant fit these Ebay ones.
If you have xenon ,then your low dip beam has a plastic reflector cover with a "hole" in the middle for the projector xenon lense. If yours is halogen ,then the cover is complete!
Best place to buy if you have xenon is at EBAY.de ,for around £210.00 delivered!
ANGEL EYES XENON SCHEINWERFER SET für BMW X5 E53 in KLARGLAS SCHWARZ / D2S | eBay
In UK Ebay, you also get them but for 299£
BMW X5 E53 ANGEL EYE D2S XENON H7 HEADLIGHTS HEADLAMPS 5/00 - 11/03 | eBay
or £319 with white angel eyes instead of yellow
BMW X5 E53 ANGEL EYE XENON H7 HEADLIGHTS HEADLAMPS WITH WHITE RINGS 5/00-11/03 | eBay

I cannot find any of these for H7 halogen headlights, but do message the sellers and they should have it too .
I have these on my 2003 X5 ,which I then modded, but I am very happy with quality and light output!(see pic below)
Good luck mate
