Wait doesn't that E-class have low mileage on it. Have the oil change with a good spec and drive that vehicle back to Texas. It will be alright.

I plan on using the X to tow it. I've done a few 1000 + trips with a 6000lb trailer without issues. The MB and trailer would be well below that weight.

The car currently has slightly over 18k miles.

My primary concern is old belts/hoses/fluids that could be an issue on a long trip.

Well, I'm flying out Sun AM to drive the MB back to TX.

Bringing my AAA card and the Auteltech AutoLink OBDII code reader that reads M'Benz specific codes/faults.

I guess a 2500 mile drive is in my near future. Glad it has Dynamic/Massage seats!

Well, the MB is home.

Trip was 1546 miles, 24.5 hrs run time, 26.5 total time (had to pull over for a 2 hr nap when I noticed my vehicle lane placement was starting to lack).

Ran with an MPG average of 32.2 miles (at 65 to 75) until I hit the TX line, knocked it down to 31.0 pulling into driveway, ran 75 to 85 in Texas (with a few roll ons to triple digits).

Interesting, Fuelly shows the 2005 production year as the high point W211 E320 at 29.9 average MPG with almost a million miles logged/reported.....
Mercedes-Benz E320 MPG - Actual MPG from 222 Mercedes-Benz E320 owners

Love the message/dynamic seats even more, set them to full force before trip.

I found it odd that the Benz has the 2 position pull out on the headlight switch. Seems an MB slipped into the US market with rear fogs fully functional (these worked great in getting 18 wheelers off my rear bumper that like to speed up to around 90 mph on downhill sections of hwy. These same trucks usually slow to 60 mph going uphill. Really annoying on long trips).

Also found windows/sunroof close with remote function is coded on. This had me go to MB VIN decoder online to see what the heck I have. To my surprise this W211 has a "Big Tank" option, 23 gals, not 17 (for countries where fuel stations are few & far between, around 740 mile range at 32.2 mpg). Also see it has a fuel chiller option (for extreme high temp operation).

Strange options on a US market W211.
