Did the SLS inactive message go away after coding (after using Progman) or immediately after the module was replaced without any coding?

Tried responding to your pm but it said your mailbox was full and that some messages needed deleted. So, I'll just respond here. If you bought the package I suggested it should have come with SSS Progman and below is a picture of the screen you get. Let me know If you figure it out I took pics of pretty much all the screens so I can attach them if needed. Also you will have to go into DIS after coding and take the new EHC out of line and transport mode. Otherwise it will still give you an error as well.

Thanks for following up here! I've cleaned my Inbox. Yes, that is the cable/software I got. I'll check the menu once I get home. Can you please send me a picture of the screen where you "code the module" to the car? And any other pics you took that might be useful. [email protected] Thanks a lot!

Hello gentlemen,

I'm having issues with my 2 axle EHC in my '04 X5 4.4i and found this thread very informative. I have taken the car to a reputable BMW shop, where I was informed that the issue with the Self Leveling Susp is the control module, which runs about $850 new. I was informed that I would have to purchase this module NEW from an authorized dealer in order for them to fix the car.

I'm mechanically inclined and have worked on my cars for years, but never a BMW. With this in mind, I have a couple questions:

1)Is it necessary to purchase a new module? Can a used one be re-encoded to accomplish the same?

2) If encoding is possible (or if using a new module), which Data Cable and software packages do you recommend? Does this require a steep learning curve?

Thanks very much!
