Two axle suspension - air supply control module - needs coding?
Does anyone know for sure - once the suspension air supply control module (part # 37146773999) is replaced, does it need to be activated, initialized or 'coded to the VIN' by the dealer? Or is it just plug and play? Thanks!

If you are talking about the module in the tire well by the radio/pdc/etc... no it doesn't. Just replaced one in the last few months on my brother in law's X5 due to a leak that flooded the area and took out the old suspension module.

That one is a similar module but for one axle air suspension. This module is under the fuses behind the glove box.

Correct. That truck had one axle air suspension. My new one has 2 axle but I have not gone into the well yet to see the differences. Sorry. Hopefully Qsilver will be in shortly to answer your question. I'm sure he'll have documentation (or at least knowledge) for you.

Yes, it must be encoded and ride height re-calibration is also essential. If you have GT1, you can do it yourself via SSS and DIS.

Sorry, my bad! According to TIS, only ride height calibration is needed.

When mine was done they said it was "coded to the car" but this was 5 years ago and I'm not sure if they had to actually code it or just calibrate the new module and run ride height calibration.

I just replaced my EHC2 (2 axle air suspension) about 2 months ago. It does need to be coded to the car. SSS Progman is what I used. Although my SLS inactive warning went out without any calibration. I did lower the ride height just a bit and did recalibrate after that. I don't think it is needed though. Probably best to have it done just in case. |
