Rear Washer Fluid Sprayer Nozzle Help
I swapped the front and rear washer fluid pumps, and both pumps are working fine. With either pump, the fluid just dribbles out of the rear sprayer nozzle. I'm thinking the rear sprayer nozzle needs to be replaced, or at a minimum, given a long vinegar bath. TIA! https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E53-X5-M54_3.0L/ES170715/ ![]() ![]()

you're correct on the vinegar bath.
as for removal, sorry I'm not useful there. please post how you do it though, as mine has been "spitting" for years and I need to see if the filter screen is clogged or perhaps the sprayer is just clogged (ie vinegar or CLR fluid bath).

based on the images I posted above, I'm thinking I can just pull on it to get it out. I'll let you know how it goes

Just a thought, maybe take a piece rubber hose that is a bit bigger than the sprayer nozzle. remove the hose off of the pump. Take your blow gun and back blow the whole system. I would feed the air in very slowly and lightly so that you don't blow a hose off of a connector inside somewhere. At your own risk…..

Mine hasn't been working at all for years, i tried to take it out once but it seemed impossible without making damage to it or the paint so I let it be. The pump work fine but nothing comes out. If you find a solution then please do share...I'm gonna give it a go myself tomorrow and see.

So I had a go at this again and I couldn't do it without risking damage to the nozzle and/our the body...so I stopped. Anyone who had any luck?

I found this...
BMW Workshop Manuals > X Series E53 X5 3.0d (M57) OFFRD > 2 Repair Instructions > 61 General Electrical System > 62 Rear Window Wiper > 4 RA Removing And Installing _ Replacing Spray Nozzle For Rear Window Washer Unit The specialty tool I think is just a trim tool http://www.unofficialbmw.com/images/tool-8.jpg and here is a page on how to adjust the spray http://workshop-manuals.com/bmw/x_se...w_washer_unit/ |

It does just pry out with a plastic trim tool. The problem I think is that the check valve/filter is not integrated and has to be reached from the other side of the black plastic trim panel. Pics are from a donor hatch waiting to get swapped for mine (with rusty bottom seam).
