Job done!
I wrestled for some time getting the new pulley installed.
Finally had the idea to use a spare bolt with the head sawed off .
I used it as an alignment guide to hold the pulley steady, while
threading in the other bolts.

Belt and pulley installed, works great.
Glad I got that time bomb pulley off.
