Any Better Options for Oil Separator Hoses
While replacing my timing chain guides, VCG, and all of the coolant hoses, I noticed that these new hoses I bought just two years were extremely soft and on the verge of failure. Is there a better and more permanent hose for this? Is there something special about these expensive hoses? I feel as though a pair of 3/4 radiator hoses would last longer. . . .geez! |

All rubber hoses are not created equal. Oil can accelerate the degradation of rubber hose, faster from the inside. How fast depends on the strength and material of the hose. I have noticed that some here have complained about different hoses going. I don't recall which ones they were. Since I have not experienced that problem with OE hoses, if you didn't use OE hoses that could be the reason.

I didn't know about the 2year warranty. And yes, I did buy them from BMW. I may try some hydraulic hosing, or polyurethane. I've spent a small fortunate on hoses for this BMW. |
