Fuel Pump repair/rebuild options

Last night I had to get towed due to a fuel pump failure on my 4.8is.
I am looking for options to get this fixed.
I can get a new pump and sensor (16116768357) for $354us and with the bad exchange rate we got now in Canada it will be around $550-$600ca with shipping and brokerage fees. I will have to throw in a fuel filter as well and I guess I will end up costing $1000ca in parts for this.

I did some research and I found the high volume pump only on ebay or other sites but not much feedback.

I wonder if anyone tried this route before and how did it go.
