I rented the special tool to do it and personally it was worth the rental. I installed Powerflex, I have had good luck with them before. I also did not have to bend the exhaust hangers to get the bushings out. A little heat on the subframe housing helps too.

Has anyone used the bottom, lower pictured tool also sold to be used on E53, where it's a cylinder tube the bushing is pushed into. That tool
Is about 1\2 the price (and I beleive made in China). And I am assuming the rentals are the top photo? Thanks
