Help needed with SES P0443

Hey everyone,

Car is a 2001 X5 4.4l M62

I keep getting a SES for P0443. It read out

"Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit"

It will come on and go off, although during the colder months it seemed to be on constantly and now that its warmed up it has gone off and on every few months.

I cannot seem to find much information on this specific problem on any of the forums and was wondering if anyone had any ideas!

Car needs emissions. If I get the emissions done during the time frame that it turns itself off will I have any issues passing? No other issues with the car

Simple. Replace the purge valve. It's located at the front of the engine on the left side if your sitting in the car. It's a 5 min repair.

Thanks! I actually figured that's what it was. Replaced the valve, check the voltage at the connector and it came back with 11.64 volts so figure it had to just be a bad valve.

Now I just need to figure out how to get a drive cycle completed by end of business day tomorrow for emissions
