Hood Roundel sources, tips

So, the roundel separates from its base somewhere between here, savannah, and jacksonville. Any tips for replacing, and sources, other than the dealer, for a quality OEM replacement .... I'll pass on the aftermarket stuff

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
I would only buy OE roundel and 2 grommets for front hood - you can get it online if you dont want to go to parts dept - ECS Tuning also sells OE roundels but you pay shipping so grab a few other parts at same time

I ordered one i think $8-9 on amazon after my original hood one came off from the adhesive. The replacement was oem type quality.

I got mine from bmw parts store for like $30. Disappointed in the quality of genuine. The OE one I got for my E30 a few years back was painted metal, the OE one for the X5 I got last year was plastic.

There a auto recycler that show up at the local flea market with hub cap and badges. Seen a couple of BMW Roundels.

With so many fakes and this and that..... 30 bucks at the dealer and all is well. There are just certain things that I must buy from the dealer and this is one of them.

You'll just feel better about them when you wipe them dry after a nice car wash

From my knowledge my oem one was plastic and so is the cheap replacement that looks and feels exactly the same... Whats the point of paying $30 for same peice of plastic. If dealer was a metal one then i would justify it.

agreed, replaced mine with a dealer / oem one and its plastic. The one I removed was metal.

Go junkyard / recycle center route mentioned above

or

just buy a cheaper plastic one and save yourself the frustration of searching for an oem version only to be dissapointed its also plastic.
