Whistling/Whinning sound when accelerating

What's the cause? Can hear it in the cabin.

Belt and/or alternator, may be tensioner pulley bearing - you did not give much to go on...
Steering pump possibly...

Front transfer case, differential? Mine sounfs like a supercharger (wish it were) change of fluid might help if that's the case.

Lots of causes for that OP.

I know in Plattus1000's case, it was his wife.

Only fix was to sell the X though.
