Question Non-Sport Steering Wheel Swap?

Hi there,

Just purchased a 2004 X5 4.4 which is a non sport edition (so it has the standard non sport steering wheel). Would it be possible to swap to the sport steering wheel with the round airbag? Would the sport airbag be plug and play?

Images below for your reference:

This is the wheel i currently have in my car: Screenshot by Lightshot
I wish to swap to this sports wheel: Screenshot by Lightshot

Thanks in advance

Yes plug and play.

Putting the steering wheel on the correct side of the car will be harder work though!

Haha thanks for the info guys! I just love the feel of the sports wheel. It's amazing how much difference a thick steering wheel can make to the feel of a car!

Yes, the facelift steering wheel is a lot thicker for sure!

Just to widen your choices a bit, any E46 or E39 wheel will fit as well.

Wait, are you the real willy manily?

But the steering wheel location is on the Right side, they just happen to drive on the wrong sided of the road.

don't forget, the E83 X3 sport wheel fits too PnP. it uses the same sport airbag. I have it in mine and love it. wish I would have held out for a heated sport but they are super hard to find from the E83 and I only paid $70 for it
