...yeah...everyone wants the latest "corona ring" or laser beam look of the new BMWs instead of the softer ANGEL EYE rings that this generation BMWs were designed with.

As was mentioned above...the e53s AE's are illuminated by one bulb through fiber optics to illuminate both rings on each side...and I believe the new gen BMW's corona rings are a totally different design which helps them deliver their searing white luminance. There's probably only a finite amount of light that can be delivered through the optics and illuminate each AE without changing the design of how the light is sent to the rings. (...just speculating...not delivering exact science).

Thanks guys. I'll look for a pair of the integrated LED units like in QSilver's pictures. Any particular brand or version suggested? I have added to my Amazon wishlist a couple of options, but appreciate any suggestions. By the way, I also have the recurring 'license plate' message and replacing/dielectric greasing and futzing with the bulb and fixture aren't solving it, so I'm going to have to splurge for the $120+ replacement trim piece with the electronic latch, license plate light fixtures, etc. Its always something as I reach 150k miles and pass ten years since the Valentine's Day 2006 birthdate.

I'm using these now. I'm happy with them. The previous set had the multiple connection pieces and they were terrible.

Here's the link to my current lights. I paid ~ $40 for them. This listing has the price as $112. Not sure why the pice is so high. There are many other sellers for what appears to be the same manufacturer.

I keep reading that some have had issues with the vendor I got mine from (UMNITZA)...but I had no problems. I got the simple "ICE Lite" LED AE replacement bulbs. Again, I wasn't looking for super bright laser beam AEs...I think I paid somewhere between $20-$30 for them.

EDIT: this is what I got and what was in the pics in my previous post: https://www.umnitza.com/angel-eyes-b...9-e60-e65.html
