Yes Carmax offered 11k for it as is and idk just not willing to let it go that cheap. If I fix this Valve smoking issue how much is it worth?

The truck just hit 80k miles super clean inside and out new tires all around runs smooth and super strong still, dampering lowering suspension and rear spacers. Gps work. Truck is actually a rare truck to find with this combo and pano roof.

If I fix this issue how much is it worth? I still see this model 2006 4.8is for sale online for $16-$18k with 80,000 miles or are they just over priced in my area?

I'm looking to get $18k for a very well maintained and lightly modded one with about that mileage and am not having much luck.

Welcome to "old cars". The price just falls away every year, especially as most of the posts are about what wrong with my X5 today!

I think we are at the 4th and final owner stages where price is the only factor. V8 or 6 that is as far as most non educated buyers are looking. Hence the price drops off.

Carmax is only gonna offer auction prices, thats it. Plus your right on the edge of car they will retail at 10 years and likely will end up at auction anyway and they wont retail it so less profit potential in it for them. Your only bet for getting more is an enthusiast site like this and for that youll have to fix valve seal and AC.

Also did they see the smoking valve issue and factored that in their price? Ill echo what others have said swapping interior is a PITA you dont want.
