factory tow harness

I know they are super hard to find but how much are they worth real world? just the harness?

I found one at the u-pull today but it looks to be a bitch to get out. seems someone else gave up and broke the harness tabs (but it can be ziptied easy). looks like the harness is jammed up against the tow hitch too.

just curious before I take the time to create cuss words pulling it out.

not sure how much they are worth but the satisfaction of you being able to salvage one would be priceless.
I'm sure a person would pay a hundred or two to have the PROPER BMW wiring harness and the module the harness attaches to as well.
these parts are NLA.

hmmm module? where is that located? I only saw the harness coming through the rear well and plugging into the main tail light harness. I suppose the module must be in one of the side portions?

module sits in a black box UNDER the air compressor/right next to the battery. its covered by black plastic that you have to uncover to see these modules.
see this thread (has a PDF of exactly where it is hiding)

An OEM wiring harness for the E53 just came up on eBay

2000 2006 BMW E53 x5 Tow Hitch 7 Way Trailer Connector Wire Wiring Harness | eBay

I have no financial interest in the auction and do not know the seller.
