OEM daytime driving light retrofit done by dealer

Hi all! I just had my local BMW dealer done the retrofit job for my car. It cost USD500 including parts and labor. The part number is 63302212799 (Retrofit kit, LED daytime driving lights 63302212799 BMW parts catalog info). Does anyone here have done this before?

I found that the function it worked was different with what it said in Philips website as the LED light turned on at its highest brightness level when the headlight was off and dimmed (but still on) at lower brightness level when the headlight was on. Now the LED turned on at highest brightness level when headlight is off and turned off when headlight is on. Is it normal on E53 X5 cars? Thanks for comment.

Hey that's cool! I have my flash to pass lights coded as daylight running lites (and was going to put in led bulbs) and they do act like your saying.

Hi there,
I didn't realise BMW sold those chinese looking DRL's as a retrofit kit. Does anybody have any more info on this? Are they intended for the E53?

Regards
