The DSP system uses an MID head unit with the big amp in the left trunk area. There are dedicated processing channels to each of the 11 speakers. The amp can delay each signal to replicate different venues.

Yep, I have the DSP and Nav. Didn't know if it was available with the regular stereo too. :thumb:
Factory aux kit is just the 3.5mm headphone plug or does it plug into the bottom of the iPod/iphone?
OP: what did you decide to do? The factory system is good when it works...but a PITA when it doesn't. Aftermarket solutions have their own issues unless you're lucky enough to have a top end installer in your town and the $$$ to pay them to do an nice install.
