E53 Rear Door Stuck Closed - Inside/Outside won't open

Hi,

So I recently replaced my Rear left (passenger side - Aus) carrier handle as it had broken.

After I replaced it I tested it and it was fine. Then after the first drive it wouldn't open from inside or outside handle.

It turned out to be the door actuator not resetting from the outter door carrier cable. I managed to get into the door and open it, pulled the actuator out a mind gave it some lube. The spring appears to be fine but not sure if it's lost any force or not.

Just wondering what is most like the issue? Would it be the cable length being too short on the new carrier or the door actuator mech spring not strong enough anymore. Also I tested it like 30 times when I put it back and it was fine then took it for a drive again and it stopped working again. Could the central locking cause any issues? The central locking does work fine lock/unlocking.

Ideas? I really don't want to pull the carrier out unless I have to as it was a bitch to do nothing aligns easy.

Cheers

Hi there - my left rear door is stuck in a closed position also and won't open from inside/outside. It hadn't been opening from the inside for almost a year (which I put up with) and then recently the outside handle/carrier came dislodged and now it won't open at all! I tried applying a little bit of downward pressure to the outside handle to try to seat things, but no luck, it's still stuck.

I attempted to remove the plastic door card with the door in the closed position (removing the seat padding, etc.) but I am unable to get it out. How did you manage to get into the door and open it? Thank you for any insight.

My back door was just stuck. Lock open, inner and outer handle not doing anything. Opened the window and had my wife cycle the locks while I simotaneously pulled the inner and outer handle. It worked. My guess is kid was pulling on the outer handle while we were unlocking or locking the door.
