Rust?

I am curious if there is any common spots for these to rust at? The 2001 X5 I picked up is crazy clean, even under it I have yet to find any rust except some very minor surface rust on the jack spots and exhaust. All the exposed metal that I can see looks to be in excellent shape, but I haven't had time yet to get under it all the way.

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
Check the inner door seams on the rear doors (and sometimes the front doors)

Most Xs that you see with rust are the result of poor repairs after an accident.

Right on.

I agree on checking all the doors from the caulk beads down.Tailgate hatch too around the handle.

Good to know on the brake lines! I'll check the other spots as well.
