A wreckers yard might be the easiest but here's the part numbers: -
Back shell/cover... ![]() BMW 61138365906 (AMP 9-963615) Insert/pin carrier... ![]() BMW 61131383736 (AMP 929682-2) Pretty sure that's the correct connector. ![]() As for finding a new one.. ![]() As it's a mechanical item, it should be repairable. The pins can be removed from the carrier and replace with new pins, if it's a damaged pin that is causing your issue. Depending on the size of wire the pins are either: - BMW 61130005197 (for 0.2- 0.5mm˛ wire) BMW 61130006663 (for 0.75mm˛ wire)

@wpoll ... Much thanks for the specific information. I will guess that I need just the insert/pin carrier (minimum) but will take what I can get. A quick parts search shows very limited availability (currently none). The wrecker seems good. I also note that there is an X5 down the street that is often unlocked over night. Could be a source, LOL!

The final result is that the pin connector is fine but the shell seems to have failed. I have attached the pin connector to the MID pins and secured with duct tape. Seems low end but haven't been able to source a new connector.
@wpoll ... much thanks for all your help.
