Finally a concrete proof that ECS Tuning E53 kit contains wrong springs!
Beginning of my saga here:
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...l-springs.html First of all I don't have agenda against ECS Tuning and I never had issue with them until now. My main problem is their claim that they sold bunch of these with no issues: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...FUUvgQodyvwJEg They agreed to take their springs back and I'll include this thread as proof. Of course, in this day and age anybody can claim anything but that's why I told them: Open one of the damn kits in your bloody warehouse (pardon my language) and see for yourself. Then get 33 53 1 096 302 (which you sell by the way) and confirm what I'm saying here! Another irony is that the upper and lower pads included in kit are CORRECT pads and they fit E53 perfect but they DON'T fit the springs they're included with. Plain and Simple: 33536779860 springs included in in their kit DO NOT FIT any E53 simply due to fact that end is way to narrow and they're designed to fit some E70 models and maybe some other. The CORRECT rear OEM spring is 33531096302 or Suplex 06204 and it's the one I just got an it's going to be shown in following pictures: Correct OEM (Suplex) spring on the right, ECS Tuning spring on the left: imagehostingOne end on ECS Tuning spring actually fits by plain coincidence and that's why I was confused at first: imagehostingThe REAL problem. The end is way to narrow to fit. You can turn it both ways, it always fits one side only: imagehostingAnd finally, Suplex spring perfect fit: imagehostingECS Tuning NO fit: imagehosting

bmw540san sorry about all the confusion with these my kit caused. I currently have my guys reviewing your findings and updating our kits accordingly. Honestly looking at your findings I feel you are correct and my guys made an error. You also have a PM from me, I'd like to get a little info from you so I can be of service.

Thank you for posting here and I responded to your PM. You guys made a mistake and that's alright, we all do. But I didn't like the fact that I was kept being told you sold bunch of these kits with no issues. I simply don't see how is that possible. It's in nobody interest for this to happen again and that was my intention plus of course to get refund for the springs. I got the RMA so that's resolved. __________________

Geeze I hate when that happens! Vendors don't understand how frustrating that can be. Good that you posted your findings

I do now give them the benefit of doubt since they admitted they did have some returns but they claim nobody bothered to explain as I did. It does sound plausible as it's not in their interest to be presented in negative light and of course they eat up the return shipping. It's still puzzling how some have not be returned. I imagine people installed it the wrong way and now we have number of E53 there with weird spring setup.

Yes, hopefully the vendor gets in touch with the remainder of the buyers to correct the problem.

You could source everything separately but I'm not sure if you'd save any money. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...33536779860kt/
