I didn't even think about that part, good call. I really don't want to modify any of the factory pieces, which is why I'm going to make the grill using plastidip that I was going to buy but at some point I might want to put everything back to factory.

I have no doubts that that adhesion promoter would be good for "real" paint. I know the title of this thread says "paint," but it seems that the discussion is about PlastiDip.

I would assume that somehow as it prepares the surface for real paint, the adhesion product will do something that is not easily removeable / reversible.

Right?
I've yet to hear of anyone using Bulldog prior to plasti-dip.

I would research the Bulldog website, then test the results, prior to using it.

I might have to buy a new grill after all. Just went to inspect it and some of the clips are broken off coming from the black piece with the fins. Still clips in but far from secured.

Wrap the chrome in a texture of your choice and move on.

Nope, no clear.

Just cleaned the chrome, wiped down with alcohol, and sprayed the dip on via rattle can. Around 5-6 coats IIRC.

Holding up very well to exposure and regular pressure washes.

Great. Just sucks that I have to buy a new grill anyway since the tabs are broke. I was ready to bang this job out yesterday after I finished my brakes.
