Has anyone Cleaned their vanos solinods
Just checking to see if any one has done this maintains ,I looks fairly simple

I just did the intake side on mine a couple of days ago. It was sticking and causing a CEL. I didn't know that was even a "thing that happens" till I started looking into it.

You need to remove vacuum pump on Bank1 to access Intake solenoid.
The rest should be easy. Also, easier to pull them out when engine is a bit warm. If you can.... recommend to inspect/clean/replace check valves too......though a bit fiddly. |

I cleaned mine before reassembling after changing out the upper timing case gaskets.
Simple once they're out. Be aware they can drip a bit of oil as you take them out. And, make sure they seat all the way back in when reinstalling before bolting on the retaining clip (a good chance to replace the inner & outer orings).
