cell phone car mounts

I'm starting to use my phone as my GPS so I finally decided to get a phone mount/holder for my X5 but I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what type to get vent, dash, or windshield and get some ideas where you mount yours. right now I just plug mine in and rest it by the hand brake and if I'm using the navigation I rest it by the cluster

There are a few holders that will work, but personally I settled with a non-slip mat in front of the instrument cluster and propping up my phone there.

I love the well engineered KENU air frame and air frame plus. Its versatile, can store in your pocket very easily and grips the phone like a glove. They have two sizes depending the size of your phone.

I use iOttie Easy One Touch Mini and mount it on the center AC vent. I love the "One Touch" feature where you can one hand it and it automatically snaps to grab a hold when you place your phone on it, and you can squeeze the side tabs to open one handed as well.

Haven't played a CD in ages. Put the CD slot to use. It's very stable and a good location for GPS. This is what I use - Satechi Universal Smartphone CD Slot Mount

If you have a case on your phone or dont mind sticking a piece of metal on it, i would suggest this

https://www.amazon.com/WizGear-Unive...tic+phone+clip

Its very nice and keeps the phone on snug at the perfect location when clipped on the passenger vent, bottom row.
I simply placed the metal sheet thats included under my cover (did not stick it on) and its holds my LG G4 snug and has never fallen off.
