Having DIS and PA BMW scanner on one laptop...

Hi guys,

I recently installed the PA scanner on the same laptop I use for DIS. It worked fine and I manage to finally get rid of the air suspension warning light. Now, i went back to the X to see if I can recalibrate the steering angle sensor before I go round 4 with it (removing it) which is near to impossible...don't know why. Anyway, when starting up DIS I get the low voltage error and only one of the two bars at the top RHS show full green, the other with the yellow image has no bars at all. Does this have to do with the PA software installation or is it a coincidence?

Don't know about your other problem, but you are most likely going to have to change the steering angle sensor. They develop an internal short and that's all she wrote. It is a pain to change and you have to have the new unit programmed by someone with a BMW tool. My indy has one so he programmed it after I changed it.

Do you have the car on house power? All the coders say put the car on a charger to edit.

I am thinking eventually to get Tunerpro and inpa of some kind, but don't know which.

I am quite positive myself that a replacement is inevitable, I just wanted to rule this one last thing out before I try and remove it again....I've failed miserably every attempt, can't get the rod to push into the floor :/

I ran the telescoping steering all the way toward the floor then held the connection in place with a screwdriver braced against a steel piece under the dash, then ran the telescoping steering all the way out. Came right out. Oh, and the clamp bolt has to be completely removed.

Yes, the car is hooked up to a charger and battery indicates full. I also make sure the laptop is connected to power so not to reply on the battery. I'm going out to check again now as I think I just remembered a step I missed during the start up procedure.

Ok I got DIS working again. I re-installed the drivers and remembered this time to run inpa (option 3) while I started DIS....Hope that made sense.

Couldn't recalibrate the sensor...deleting the fault didn't do much either. Time for some push-ups...round 4!

Yes I did try this since last advised but with no success....it looked like the rubber pad was about to shear off so I stopped. I'm going to try this method one more time though and hope for the best. I'm also hoping I could maybe rebuild the old one using parts from my new sensor so I won't have to go to the dealer...I've seen people try this with success.
