Nope, I am not going to dig into everyone's options I am only putting how they roll off the assembly line.

Yup, no offense to 4.8is owners but 4.6is is somewhat more special in many ways.
M62TU 4.6 is last hurrah of BMW before the wave of N62, valvetronic, turbochargers, direct FI etc...
Also, E53 has clear E39 gene in it's looks before the bodywork update in 2004.
