NCS Dummy - Taking the expert out of NCS Expert NCS Dummy should make life with NCS Expert a bit easier. NCS Dummy parses keyword trace files (FSW_PSW.TRC) or nettodata trace files (NETTODAT.TRC) and retrieves all possible parameters, control unit data and order options for each function. The parsed trace files can be viewed and modified in a graphical trace editor or exported to text files. NCS Dummy can be used to compare two trace files and show the differences. Furthermore NCS Dummy can disassemble and assemble NCS Expert data files to achieve functionality that is not possible with a stock NCS Expert installation. https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-of-NCS-Expert

NCS Dummy is amazing - makes it so much easier -
I personally always read my modules with NCS (make a backup if you think you might want to revert to the previous coding, although I never really do as nothing is that complex that I'm doing that I can't just read and reverse it), pull up the TRC file in Dummy, make my changes and export to TRC and MAN and then code the module in NCS - and save your TRC file in a separate folder so you have your current coding saved - So much easier than the old days changing lines of code in the Notepad txt file lol!

If you're looking at using aftermarket angel eyes as DRL's, forget coding and find a connection in the underhood E-box that is only on with the key being on and turns off when the key turns off. I don't have a pic, but there is a red with white stripe wire that goes into a relay. Tap into it with the positive wire from your aftermarket angel eyes and then you have DRL's that you don't have to worry about being on or coded.

Nothing to buy. Tap the power wire into the red/white wire in the ECU. Search for info on this forum.
