JonbmwX5 is on a distinguished road
I fixed one issue and caused another

Hi guys, my key fob hasn't been working for a while so just been using the key in the door that has been working the centro locking fine for the last three months unlocking and locking the car with no problems. At the weekend I replaced the driver side window regulator as the window kept getting stuck, I replaced it using the guide on the forum (great guide thanks) and was felling please with myself as all working properly. I then went to move the x5 and it wouldn't started I had drained the battery while fitting and testing the window regulator. Not a problem I thought and charged the battery up over night.

Now I can start the car and drive it fine but the electrics have gone funny, the key now only unlocks and locks the drive door only, I have to start the car and press the inside lock button to lock/unlock the three other doors, to open the boot again I have to start the car to use the button on the centre console as the buttons don't work without the car engine turned on, the button used to work before without the engine on. I replaced the battery in the key fob but his doesn't do any still. Also yesterday I was driving into a car park and none of the windows would work at all.

So I'm thinking I have damaged the driver side lock while fitting the driver side window somehow, I have seen these kits on ebay BMW X5 DOOR LOCK REPAIR KIT FRONT-RIGHT | eBay unless this has failed with me using the key all the time.

But it doesn't explain these range electric issues that haven't be right since the battery died?

Any ideas? Many thanks Jon
