How do I know????.
I have been chasing a leak for 3 weeks. I thought it was the lower oil pan gasket. I did that, and I'm still getting oil drops. It seems to be dripping off the front differential.

You seem handy with cars, so I would remove the alternator and inspect that area to be sure. It is a somewhat big job depending on who you ask.

Judging by the age of the vehicle it is due for the alternator bracket seal change. Bite the bullet and get it done.

I am fairly sure it will be warranty work.
October was the valve stem job and all timing covers. My Indy asked if I wanted to do the alternator bracket. I said to do it.

Oh well in that case just take it back and say its leaking again. Cover it under the warranty as you said. BMW parts are 2 year 24K miles warranted. |
