How do I get set up to reset the tranmission adaptive values with inpa

I know it has been discussed here before but a few years ago and I did a search on the web. Sorry about all these newbie questions.

But for a E53 (2005) what d0 I need to get set up to reset the transmission adaptive values.

1. What is the cable I need? I see some that has a UBS connector and someone said you need a computer with some type of pin connector.

2. What is the OS system I need. Someone on the youtube said you need a window XP system. Better to have window XP professional and window 7 will not have all the features.

3. What program/version do I need to have ability to reset the transmission?
