Help please, New X5 owner

Hi all, great site, really informative, even though I don't do any mechanical stuff myself it's great to read some of the stuff on here.

Anyway, my old freelander conked out a couple of weeks back so I went out and bought an X5! It's a 2006 Le Mans performance blue 3litre diesel model. Gorgeous looking car, and so smooth to drive.. it's got sat nav with it but unfortunately I don't have the relevant sd card or know what to get or where from. I've looked everywhere so thought I'd finally try asking here.

The unit has one cd drive and 2 SD card slots, one which says SD and the other which says gps. I've attached photos if this helps?

Does anyone recognise what I have and can they help? Is it the stock unit? I just want the sat nav to work. I do have a plug in one but seeing as it's on the machine I'd like to use it. Also the DAB doesn't seem to work either if anyone can shed a light on that? I'm not too bothered about that but might be nice to listen to the football on Saturday afternoon on five live...

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Jez

I've never seen an official BMW e53 X5 audio system with CD & SD slots in front...so more than likely you have an aftermarket system. Especially if the steering wheel buttons do not function.

Do a search for bmw e53 nav upgrades and see if what you have installed appesrs. Eonon jumps to mind as one of the few aftermarket options.

The steering wheel buttons function fine. Volume and station search. And the voice thing too but there's not really much to connect to.

The cd slot is at the top to play music I guess. Both the sd slot and gps slots are at the bottom on either side

Dynavin also comes to mind as they make a unit that looks a lot like the description.

Dynavin has sd slots on the top right side one on top of each other.
Avin Avant has slots on both sides.
Not sure about Eonon.
