AC Compressor - Denso

I've yet to start browsing old threads but a quick question for ya'll
Who is the make of our OE compressor in our E53 PRE Facelift - Denso ?

It is causing quite the rattle ....whew. For a hot minute there, I slowly picked up the hood hoping the rattle was not the guides....even though the guides were done about 40 ago

I see a Denso : Reman
Nissens : New

Still googling.

Ordered me a Denso.....dunno which sites are accurate as some sites show its new, some show it's reman. I suppose it's like alternators...where they are all reman ?

No core charge on this though so I dunno....

Rule #1: before ordering any part, check under the hood to see what you currently have. If stock is Denso, then use Denso.
Later models us Calsonic Kansei.

Anyway, I replaced the AC compressor in my 1998 528i (E39), see the DIY below:

cn90.

Excellent writeup. No AC tools on hand.....for the hassle factor of evac, etc, just going to drop it off@the shop. LOL. I hate bringing parts to the shop (POV is that shop supplies, warranty, etc) but this is def. one part I know I saved some green....

It's been a while since I looked into this but I do recall the pre-facelifts used Denso's, and the facelifts used Calsonic Kansei as mentioned above.

Denso was a standard compressor while the Calsonic was a variable displacement.

Just for the wiki. The replacement Denso is *brand new*. Not reman. Some sites suggested reman. Some suggested Brand new.

Sticker says Made in USA if brownie points count...
