Run the codes and see whats generating causing the light to stay on.

DBC...as in dynamic brake control warning light? Which generation X5 do you have...e53 or e70? I ask because you don't have a signature or model/model year info...and I can't recall seeing or having a DBC warning light on my 06 (e53) X5. Perhaps different BMW markets have slightly different warning light configurations.

We do have ABS & DSC warning lights (from e53 owners manual):

My (e38) 740iL's owners manual does have info about DBC:

Hi there

Yes it's 2006 e53 facelift model and it is absolutely the DBC warning signal

What messages do you have on the Check Control? I recently had my front pads wear out and I got a similar warning, along with "Check Brake Linings" on the CC readout.

So what does the CC error message actually say?

I think a DBC fault would be a yellow warning, not red...

Ignore the highlight - I've just borrowed this image from another thread.

Pretty sure this same symbol in red means worn brake linings or maybe brake fluid low. Might pay to check them both.
