Today, I bought these parts from...
I thought this would be a fun spot to share information about parts (and services?) from your favorite online or local sellers. My favorite place to go is a pull-a-part yard. I like them bc you can feel free to rip up a car just like yours to see how things fit together. Also, interior trim pieces like trim clips, screws for the doors, plastic parts, etc mean nothing to these guys. Grab what you can carry and head to check out. Smaller trim parts are free or near zero cost.
Back when I did my speaker upgrade, I cocked up the passenger window switch. This has bothered me for awhile, but has been one of those things that I try to stop looking at. Yesterday, I found a yard with THREE X5's (one '04 had BOTH tail lights, btw). Anyway, I found what I wanted and got TWO just in case one didn't work. The 1st one I tried worked! The best part? If it's a small interior part or one of those screws that BMW wants to sell for $3, they'll usually let it go for free. These cost me nothing when I also bought a radio. The plan for the radio may not work out, but I figured $25 wasn't bad to try.

I really wish I had a pick n pull by me, I'm just like you - the little things bother me (and I know perfection is not reality if the car is used and driven)
The center cupholder is driving me nuts lately - I am thinking to use 3M scotchbrite pads this summer, pull the console, and disassemble it and re-spray in Plasti dip (new one is what $300? any used ones will have wear too) -

Wish I had one here too.
My son and one of his friends went to a pick-N-pull $100 all you can carry day in FL. He got all the seats and door panels for his "well worn" Lexus ES 350 for $200. The car he stripped had a spotless leather interior. Getting a drivers seat recovered would have cost more.

What exactly can you fit in that damned thing besides only one cup? I find it mildly irritating it can't hold two.

Hey Prop, if you need an original radio, I have 2.
One from my e39, and one from X5. The e39 was 2003 (no DSP), the X5 is 2004 (with DSP) I think both are the professional HU models. Both mint condition, have no use.

We have a pick-n-pull but for BMW's it's really only useful for the e36,e38, or e39 chassis. Very rarely do I see an e46 and e30's are pretty rare now too. Never seen an e53 there. Never.
