You will see them. Just paint them with a rattle can.

i ended up going with these:

25mm front
&
30mm rear

it saved me about $100 compared to H&Rs. and comes with 5 year warranty. i would have preferred H&Rs more but they were hard to find in black and cost considerably more. also not comfortable with painting them. but strange that it was amazon that came through with these. haha

You may find? You have to get some spacer to hub, small headed bolts for the fronts. These sit flush with spacer to allow the whell to mate to the spacer.

This happens if you wheels are not machined to allow the wheel bolts (now holding on your spacers) do not have enough room, to fit the bolt heads into the wheel recess.

On the 30mm rears the bolts will sit flush. On the 25mm the bolts well protrude by 5mm. You can either cut them down with an angle grinder, or buy purpose fit spacer bolts.

I'm late to the game here, but ECS makes very reasonably priced spacers and adapters as well. Going to order some adapters for the e70 to run the 72.56mm hub size wheels on it.

PS: thanks mikesoops for the lead on that ebay seller.

Be sure the suggestions are based on the 168 rims as different rims may have different offsets.

I just purchased black edition H&R DRa spacers BMB50757252 (e-bay from Tunershop-worldwide) as I had one of my silver ones damagedsomehow ;(.
I'm much happier with the black set. But yes you could always spray paint silver ones.

I ONLY run these on my winter set up. I have the 168's with NO wheel arches/flares and MUCH prefer that fitment since the 168's sit perfect with non-flared X5's and if you add that arch you then have to go wider again with hub spacers to achieve the same effect as not having the flares installed. all personal preference.

Yeah I run the 20mm front spaces and 30mm on the rear and of course my BMW X5 has the factory flares which place the wheels flush with them.

UPDATE : those guys at BLOXSPORT contacted me for confirmation on fitment before they sent it out and turns out that the set i chose didnt have the correct bolt thread sizing. so they are putting together the correct threads for me. M12x1.5 vs M14x1.25 or M14x1.5.

our e53s are 14x1.50.

glad they did that instead of just blindly sending them out. good customer service.

i still haven't been able to test my fitment yet. still waiting on my bc racing coil overs to get here first. then will put on the 87 wheels and spacers and the 4.8 body kit. its been about 2 months. should be within the next week though.

i did get my steering wheel in though. i love it. instantly upgraded my driving experience by 1000%. i did a rear wiper delete since i live in southern California i dont really need it at all.

anyway, cant wait to show you guys everything once its all put together!

Like they used to say back in the Ro a d f l y days. This thread is useless without pics. I have a 05 4.4 and am considering 168's and flares. What are we talking about
