Torque spec for M62 rear coolant cover plate?

Hi guys,

I did a search but couldn't find the torque wrench setting for the hex bolts on the rear coolant cover plate for M62.

Can someone point me in the righr direction? Thanks!

I've had that info somewhere.
IIRC, it's 10, 15 or 22NM.
I'll try to find it and post it.

Thanks! BTW do you use any sealant on those hex bolts? e.g. permatex ultra grey on the thread? When I removed them some of them were loose.

I've looked everywhere and I can't find it.
I would guess 10Nm would be sufficient since there are so many and that's the same torque for M62 WP which has similar gasket style.
You could use medium blue loctite to play it safe.

Is it value 5AZ on this chart (10Nm as suggested)?

It's different engine of course, but if bolts are M6 on M62 as well, I'd venture to say that 10NM is pretty much right.

Yeah, can't find the M62 sheets - just the N62 one. And here's a more specific sheet..

All those V8s are the same aren't they?

Not the same but considering that N62 kept coolant pipe crossover design similar to M62, I'd say the coolant manifold cover is similar as well.
All this can be compared through real oem but I don't why would BMW change anything drastically when it comes to cover, gasket and bolts.
