I am still a little concerned about the parasitic drain that my X5 had with the old TCU that was solved by pulling fuse 74. I will be watching the shift indicator over the next few days to see if the iBus wakes up the system and draining the battery like it did before. Fingers crossed.

Great...I'm glad it worked out for you...and so do appreciate the update to the thread.
One request I do hope you consider...and that would be to add your vehicle info (model/model year/build date) to a permanent signature. I'm sure someone will be searching for this same info in the future...and may follow your same path. But knowing the info you have missing can also help them in knowing any extra things they may need to look for/look out for.

Everything seemed to be working for a day but last night before going to bed, I checked on the X5 in the garage and the system was awake. It had been at least 6 hours since I parked it so there should have been no reason it should have woke up. I pulled the codes from the TCU with BMW Scanner PA Soft 1.4 and posted the screenshot below. I did clear the codes and they came back empty but checked it again today after running errands and both are back. My first thoughts are the replacement TCU I got off fleaBay has the same issue my last TCU did (if that is actually the problem). However, the odds are stacked against 2 identical issues with 2 separate TCU modules. I read on a previous post of yours from several years ago where you listed fuse 74 destinations:
So, any advise on checking these other devices that may randomly wake the system up and cause the NAD Transceiver Failure or did I just match the odds of winning the lottery and get another failed TCU? I did disconnect the 2 devices I have on the iBus that are not OEM BMW (Dice and ModLight2) so I am still diagnosing. Again, everything is working perfect with the Bluetooth, voice command and TCU so I am not sure why is lists a TCU failure. Any thoughts would truly be appreciated.

Hi guys,
I snagged the microphone, antenna and BT module (03/03/2006, part number 9 120 843) so all should work. Checked all front and rear fuses and they seem ok, but buttons on radio and wheel do nothing. I tried connecting via GT1 and INPA and can't seem to. Overboost, what programming was required to activate the module? I think I have NCS Expert, but not sure I ever fired it up or got it talking. Advice appreciated. Thanks!

Nothing pops up during with ignition on. Tried with 2 phones.
When I connected with INPA, I could connect to the radio, but not the TCU. In the radio, "telephone-mute" was active if that helps. But with GT1 or INPA I couldn't see the TCU. I have the massive multi-pin connector and one of the other decoupled connectors attached to the module. One other connector to the antenna.

And it should be the large multi-pin connector that allows comms to it, correct?

Yes, recheck all your fuses, especially fuse 74 in the rear.
