Bluetooth help!!!

Here is my issue, I have researched this forums, all other forums, even searched google, I am stuck.
I have a X5 2003 pre wired for bluetooth. I installed the telematics module. However this module has a phone in its memory I can not pair maine nor delete the one in the module.
I tried everything from pulling the fuse to attemp to pair my phone. I never get the option to pair mine, however if I press the speaking face on the steering wheel it invokes the old verizon phone, rings but a message from Verizon tells me will transfer me because the phone is has no service.
Does anybody know how can I reset the telematics module to delete all phones?
This telematics does not show a PK number on its label either... what gives???
Thank you.

UPDATE

Ok, After leaving the module in the car for 24 hours I now have a red light on the phone button. The old Verizon phone in the TCU has been automatically removed.
Yesterday when I was able to view the menu I saw signal strength 100% so, I am assuming I have an antenna.

The issue now, is how to add my phone to the car.
I have researched these forums and other forums the instructions by pressing the talking face on the steering wheel does not work.
No matter what I do my phone does not see the BMW.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue?
Thank you.

Not enough info to be of help. What is the part nbr of the TCU you installed?

The 2003 X5 didn't come with BT capability...it had to be added as an accessory/option...and at that time, I think it required more than pressing the "talk/speak" button. Depending on if you had a telephone installed...it would require pressing the button on the phone's cradle.

If you have the newer TCU that was used in the 10/04-up e53s that came with the premium package or BMW assist...to pair a new device only required turning the ignition to KL R (ignition position 1) or KL 15 (ignition position 2)...which opens a 2 minute window to pair your smartphone.

Here's a direct link to a reply I made yesterday which has a bit more detail about BT pairing if you have the newer TCU: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...7#post29751427

Bluetooth

This is one of the TCU I plugged in.
I have two.
On this one, I get a message (phone connected?)
The other TCU I have , I will post pictures later, is the one that had a Verizon phone in it.
No matter what I do, my phone does not see BMW available to connect to it.

Again, an 11 digit BMW part nbr would be helpful (ignore the previous sentence...the images you posted are not visible on my work CPU...their URL address apparently do NOT meet the net nanny's standards).

Not all TCUs were BT capable. See the info below...and note the text highlighted in yellow...there were TCUs produced between 3/04-8/04 and installed in multiple BMW models that did NOT support BT:

Bluetooth

I thought the label would show part number. Where would the part number be?
I find intriguing if this TCU is not Bluetooth compatible if it has a PK code right on it.

My '04 TCU had BT logo and was not BT compatible. I had to buy a BT TCU and replace it.

After that, the module will hold something like 5 or 6 phones. I was only able to add my last phone when the TCU was cleared with GT1/equivalent. I have had a new phone since then and it will not pair either.

After the experience with a replacement head unit in my wife's E46, I am done messing with the stock E53 radio parts.

AHH...your image didn't show when I replied above...the site you have the image uploaded to must not have passed my employees net nanny. :(

Now that I'm on my phone...I can see the pic...the 11 digit BMW part number is 84 11 6 946 993 & the build date is 6/10/04 ...which falls within the date range of TCUs that do not support BT (as mentioned in the posted article of BMWs that incorrectly suggested they did support BT...but actually do not .

Look for a TCU with build date of 10/04-up. If you click the link below...you can see a long list of TCUs that support BT in the part nbr index below the diagram (see items for #1)...the list contains current & no longer produced nbrs. ... but can still be found in the used market...again, look for dates used from Oct 2004-up:

Really? I cleared all my phones when I bought the car, and have paired a good 5 phones already. No issues so far.

Maybe the BMW Telematics Control Unit gurus can help me here.

My 2004 X5 had a problem with the TCU causing a battery drain on my X5 so I pulled the fuse 73 in the back. It had BMW assist but the Bluetooth never worked as I my X5 falls under the 2004 non BT build. So if I want to replace my TCU and get Bluetooth working, is there a specific TCU for BMW Assist and Bluetooth I should look for?

I should point out I do not necessarily need the BMW Assist, but I am having a hard time determining if it matters in the hardware replacement for my chassis.
