first complaint in a year and one half

The first 4-5 months of ownership were hell with the X5 but since then it
has been flawless. I hit the mirror switch to bring them in before entering the barn and they came in and promptly swung out again. Besides the obvious of heading to the dealer are there any magic mirror tricks to alleviate this problem.
thanks,
Fred

DrFred,
If my memory serves from the pics of your barn, I think the fookin place is haunted. Or, strange power grid things in there. I suspect that's the damn problem, lol!

The local certified haunted house is west of us down the block. I wonder whether ghosts move on out to the east side....

This sounds strange but I think you will find that the problem is related to the window switch modules and can only be fixed by replacing them...hopefully under warranty.

who ya gonna call......

BMW place I guess since it is still under warranty. Right now I am in the dark
literally. We have no ceiling lights in the back 7 rooms of the house-only the outlets are working. The wires run in the ceilings above the downstairs rooms
feeding all of the lights and a short is blowing the breaker immediately. We have to either put holes in the ceilings or rip up carpet and plywood under it upstairs to try to find the wiring some which is well over 100 years old (twin wires on ceramic posts seperated by a foot). I did most of the new wiring over 25 years ago and have completely forgotten where the wires run. The electricians will be here in the morning again and probably have to destroy the upstairs to find the short. 150 year old houses are sure fun!

Dr. Fred,

I had this gremlin, too. It was resolved when the dealer replaced my mirrors. No problems since.

Here's an earlier thread on X5world dealing with this issue, and here's a post about my experience in an informative thread (from BF) on this topic containing knowledgeable and helpful posts from IFlyX5, Janix, Chris F., and TripleX5.
