To me the key thing is the android operating system. That allows for adding features the radio didn't come with. Such as the ability to reset the mpg, trip meter etc which the dynavin cant do.

Plus at double the price of pretty much all the other aftermarket direct fit radios out there the dynavin prices itself out of the competition since it brings nothing to the party the others don't already have.

An American distributor is the dynavins only real claim to fame which is nice but its not double the price nice in my opinion.

They were not that bad. It was just not instant response probably due to time difference. They actually asked me to check whether my amp was outputting 12v.

Glad to hear that you prevailed with the Eonon unit. I agree with you that it is a great value for the price.

I installed a GA6166 earlier this year and have been pretty happy.

After my speaker upgrades, the sound, to me, is phenomenally enjoyable.

There's a lot of crap seemingly going on in the background on first boot up after an overnight sit which seems to slow response down a lot which is an annoyance and I wish I could figure out what is running and shut it down.

Anxious to hear what your hack is to get the BC controls back if that is even possible???? Although the lack of BC functions was not a deal killer for me when compared to the 21st Century functionality that this unit offered..

Hey Mike,

Yeah the amp upgrade made a huge difference. The shop also proposed to update my speakers but I am holding off on that for now.

As far as the hack for BC functions I looked at this guy video but I have not attempted any of that myself yet.

Take good note of the details the video poster added in the comments regarding the Android app and I- bus interface used in his demo.
